Twice Pinnate

The Håyun Lågu tree leaves are called a twice pinnate leaf. This means they have a midrib that runs through the middle of the leaf and then many small leaflets on both sides of the midrib. They can have between 20-22 pairs of leaflets. The leaves are dark green in color and glossy, or shiny, in appearance.

Yellow Butterflies

Scientific Name: Eurema blanda

Different butterflies can be seen throughout Guam, but the yellow butterflies are another invasive species who find the leaves of the Håyun Lågu tree tasty to eat when they are caterpillars.
